Om Mani Padme Hum, the most powerful mantra in Tibetan Buddhism:
✔️ OM (ohm) purifies ego - Recited at the start of many mantras, it concentrates the mind and helps transform the impure body, speech, and mind.
✔️ MA (mah) purifies jealousy - The “ma” sound is intended to release jealousy and attachment, and symbolizes compassion and ethics.
✔️ NI (nee) purifies passion - The “ni” sound cultivates self-compassion and patience as we release desires.
✔️ PAD (pahd) purifies ignorance - “Pad” helps release judgments and prejudices. It symbolizes equality and diligence.
✔️ ME (meh) purifies greed - It establishes bliss and increases concentration as we release judgments toward others.
✔️ HUM (hum) purifies hatred - “Hum” is used to cultivate inner wisdom while releasing thoughts of hatred or aggression.
About the Tai Chi Symbol (Yin Yang)
The symbol represents the flow of opposing primal forces in the universe - good and evil, darkness and light.
Yin is passive, cold, receptive, feminine energy, while Yang represents masculine energy, movement, force, and heat. They maintain a balance between opposites, and each contains a small part of the other within it. Together, they symbolize harmony and the unity of dual forces.
